Olympique Marseille will see Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United arrive at the Stade Vélodrome on Wednesday February 23rd for a Champion’s League meeting which will be the first of a two leg knock out.
The French side has found some sort of form and have managed to climb to fourth in Ligue 1 but the Champion’s League will be a different ball game. Manchester United visit and are in a position of strength as the English League leaders are on track to do another double. Wayne Rooney has been in the news for the right reasons after scoring a miraculous goal for his club that will have taken the pressure off him. Berbatov is also in great shape and he may start ahead of Hernandez who despite his talents is still seen as a second choice striker.
The French side like winning in this competition this year and have been able to do so in great fashion. They thrashed Zilina by seven goals to nil and that will have sent warnings to the defenders of their opponents.
Manager Didier Deschamps will be well aware also of Alex Ferguson’s defensive ability and so will Argentinean Gabriel Heinze who was himself a defender at United for a few years.
